  1. What was threatening the health of the church at Colossae that prompted Epaphras to make a 2,600 mile round trip journey from Colossae to Rome to visit the imprisoned Paul?

 

  1. With all the warnings in Scripture to be on guard against false teaching, why do we find the church so often succumbing to error?  

 

  1. Almost every heresy in the church can trace its roots back to an attack upon the P_______  and W______ of Christ.

 

  1. In the church, false teaching is always a mixture of truth and ________. 
  2. “The closer something is to the truth without actually being the truth, the more dangerous it really is.” Why is that statement true?

Using the illustration given of a circle representing Christ as “our life” (Colossians 3:6), with everything we do being within the circle, explain why this illustration better reflects the way we are to pursue the Christian life rather than a list of things we do with Jesus being at the top of the list.

 

  1. Pray to the Lord that through the power of the Holy Spirit within you, you may live your life (church, family, friends, hobbies, occupation, etc.) in the context of your standing “in Christ”.
