GRACE MADE VISIBLE: A STUDY IN THE LIFE OF JESUS
IN THE GOSPEL OF MARK
SERMON APPLICATION QUESTIONS
Mark 1:14-20

1. Review Mark 1:14. Notice especially the short opening statement about John. What is happening with John? What does this teach us about suffering and the sovereignty of God? How do you apply this to suffering or sorrow that you have faced or are facing?

2. What is the Kingdom of God? In what way is it present in the world today and in what way is there still a future to it yet to come?

3. How does the Kingdom of God grow? How would you summarize the preaching of Jesus (gospel or good news) to a non-Christian?

4. How does “repent and believe” relate to confession and obedience in the life of a Christian?

5. In verse 17 and verse 20, Jesus commanded men to follow Him and Mark records for us their immediate response. What does this say about Jesus? What does it say about how we should respond to Him?

6. The call of Christ on these first followers was difficult and costly. How has the call of cost been difficult and costly to you?
