Frequently Asked Questions

What is your style of music in worship?

We sing songs, both old and new, that are rich in Biblical truth. Our main focus is always content rather than style. We have a culturally diverse congregation with many different musical preferences, but we are united in our love for God. Therefore, we love to sing songs that reflect the majestic, sovereign, gracious character of God and the wonderful truth of the gospel.

What is expositional preaching?

This is preaching whose object is to expound what is said in a particular passage of Scripture, carefully explaining its meaning and applying it to the congregation. This will most often occur here at GRBC by preaching through complete books of the Bible. A commitment to expositional preaching displays a belief in the authority and sufficiency of Scripture. It is not characterized by a particular form or style, but by content.

What is the Lord’s Supper and why is it important?

The Lord Jesus instituted this covenant meal to be observed in His churches until He returns. We observe this supper to intentionally remember Christ and His death in the place of sinners. We eat and drink to visibly confirm our invisible faith in Christ. This is a time that the body of Christ gathers to confess sin, renew our faith, express our unity as believers and enjoy exceptional fellowship with our Lord.

GRBC celebrates the Lord’s Supper as a part of our weekly gatherings on the 2nd and last Sundays of each month. All baptized believers, both covenant members and guests, who are actively confessing their sin, continually trusting in Christ and cooperating with other believers in establishing God’s kingdom on earth are invited to eat the bread and drink from the cup in obedience to Jesus’ command.
