Reformation Day Conference

Speaker: Dr. Don Kistler
Date: October 27-29, 2006

On October 31, 1517, Martin Luther nailed his 95 Theses to the door of the Castle Church in Wittenberg, Germany. Luther disputed the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church regarding the authority of the church, the nature of penance and the abuse of indulgences. This event set off a chain reaction that eventually resulted in the Protestant Refomation and birthed the Lutheran, Reformed and Anabaptist traditions.

On October 27-29, 2006, Dr. Don Kistler spoke at Green Run Baptist Church to commemorate the rediscovery of the Gospel that we now call the Reformation. In these 4 talks, Dr. Kistler explored the true issues that brought about the Reformation and he explained in detail the doctrine of justification by faith alone. The conference concluded with our Lord’s Day gathering where Dr. Kistler provided a wonderful exposition of God’s word from Romans 3-4.

Dr. Kistler is the founder of Soli Deo Gloria Ministries, a division of Ligonier Ministries. He has authored or contributed to several books and is one of the foremost experts on the Puritans. He and his family live in Orlando, Florida.
