Our Common Heritage
Speaker: Anthony Carter
Date: May 21-23, 2004
Green Run Baptist Church is a racially integrated church. Over 50% of our covenant members are Black, Latino or Asian. We are also a
church that largely follows the teachings of the Reformers on such topics as salvation, the importance of the local church and the
authority of Scripture. In 2004, Anthony Carter came to GRBC to address us regarding Our Common Heritage. The purpose of the
conference was to demonstrate how our sovereign Lord unites believers across all racial and cultural lines and to demonstrate how
Reformed Theology provides a proper framework for understanding the unity we enjoy in Christ.
Anthony Carter is an assistant pastor at Southwest Christian Fellowship in Atlanta,
Georgia and he, along with Sherard Burns, is one of the founders of Cyrene Ministries.
Anthony is also the author of On Being Black and Reformed and A New Perspective on the African-American Christian Experience.
