Frequently Asked Questions
Why did GRBC see the need to start this institute?
This institute was birthed out of a desire to love God with out minds and engage our culture with the gospel of Christ in greater ways than
we ever have before as a local body of believers. Therefore, we want to equip the saints "for the work of service, to the building up of the
body of Christ" (Ephesians 4:12) at a higher level of instruction and training.
Who would benefit from this institute?
- Men and women of any age desiring a greater level of Biblical knowledge and training for the purpose of growing in godliness.
- Men seeking to become the spiritual shepherds of their homes or young men wanting to prepare to be a godly husband and father.
- Someone who may want to "test the waters" by enrolling in some courses to see if God perhaps would have him seek spiritual
leadership in his local church, or someone who is already committed to pursuing future full-time service and needs all the "tools"
necessary for effective ministry.
If I get credit for completing a course, will other educational institutions
recognize it?
Probably not. These courses are not designed to meet strict academic requirements. Rather, they are designed to be convenient, affordable,
and helpful to the body of Christ.
How much will it cost?
The cost of each course will vary depending on the resources needed by a participant. However, the cost will generally be no more than the
price of one or two good books. Payments can be made during our Sunday morning offering by marking "Institute" on the offering envelope or
by simply placing cash or check in the "Payment Box" located at our Resource Center.
Will there be child-care during my classes?
Generally speaking, there will not be child-care provided during the course. It is the individual's responsibility to make arrangements
for his/her children. Children of all ages are welcome to accompany their parents in the class (especially if both parents are taking a
selected course) as long as the parents accept full oversight of the child/children at all times.
How long will it take to complete a course?
Every course will take a different amount of time to complete. Some courses may be as short as a weekend seminar, while others may take as
long as 10-12 weeks to complete. A schedule of upcoming courses will be published each quarter.
Who will be teaching the courses?
Each course will be taught by one of our pastors. However, we will also bring in guest teachers from time to time for certain courses.
